Our herd of fallow deer are raised in the stunning grounds of the historic Powderham Castle, near Exeter. Our venison is simply sensational to eat because we allow our deer to grow slowly so they reach maturity at a natural rate, building up strong muscles. Their diet only consists of ancient parkland grass, and nothing else. We ensure that the meat is first hung on the bone for 12 days before it's butchered so it develops an intense flavour. That's no wonder that our saddle fillet of venison was awarded two-star Gold at the Great Taste Award in 2013! Venison is a delicious, seasonal treat available only from early September until late February. Make sure you order early to avoid disappointment.
