Choosing the perfect breed is incredibly important to us here at Pipers Farm. We have specifically chosen Bronze Turkeys for their ability to slow grow over a long period, this creates a proper texture to our Turkey meat. We hatch our birds in early Spring, they spend their first few weeks feathering up in a toasty barn. Once ready we release our Bronze Turkeys into the cider orchards where they eat a totally natural diet including herbaceous forage and windfall apples. Once they have reached maturity we dry pluck each Turkey by hand and hang the birds for 12 days to create a beautifully flavoursome juicy bird.
