ETHICAL, PASTURE FED MEAT
Choosing the perfect breed is incredibly important to us here at Pipers Farm. We have specifically chosen Bronze turkeys for their ability to grow slowly and produce properly textured meat. Our birds hatch in early Spring and spend their first few weeks feathering up in a toasty barn. After that, we release them into our cider orchards where they eat a totally natural diet of simple cereals, herbaceous forage and windfall apples until they have reached natural maturity. Once ready, we dry pluck each one by hand. We then hang the meat for 12 days before butchering to enhance the flavour and create meat that will be juicy when you roast it.
