Abergavenny Food Festival started way back in 1999 and has built up an exceptional reputation as one of the leading food festivals in the world. Showcasing the very best in food it's a mecca for foodies, chefs, journalists and more. We're buzzing to be attending for the first time this year.

River Cottage and Pipers Farm Demos
Join us at the Castle where you'll find our demo tent. We'll be cooking up a storm with brilliant River Cottage team including their well-known tutors; Gill Meller, Gelf Anderson and Naomi Devlin and Steve Lamb.
Gill will be showcasing how to cook over fire, sparking up a storm and inspiring you with new ways to cook your meat along with delicious flatbreads, as well as hosting a foraging walk to find free edible accompaniments.
River Cottage tutor and fermentation expert Naomi will explore what it means to eat happily for gut health. We are so inspired by her recipes and the good fermented foods and drinks can do for our bodies. Make sure to check her out whilst you are at the festival.
Gelf will be using Pipers Farm meat to whip up some delicious meals for festival goers to try out and to fill bellies with the fire with exciting new ideas to try out in your own homes.
Rude Health Rants - 12:45pm - Saturday 15th September
Peter will be taking part in this year's Rude Health Rants. Known for their flavourful topics which discuss important subjects, it'll be a great way to spend part of your time at the festival.
Meat Masterclass - 10-11:30am, Sunday 16th September
Join us for our Meat Masterclass with Peter for an insight into how to get the most out of your meat. Teaching you the tips and tricks of how to get real value out of meat by exploring the carcass to hunt out thrifty cuts shining a light on how meat is really produced.
You’ll have a go at butchering your own chicken, make a simple stuffed joint and learn the oh-so-crucial butcher’s knot.
This unique course will take you on a journey from field to fork, giving you a real insight into how to get better value out of the meat you eat.

Farmyard Tent Talks - 1pm, Sunday 16th September
Head over to Castle Street for the Farmyard Tent Talks to hear Peter take part and discuss the meaty subject of 'Resilient Farming in Volatile Times' along with Rob Yorke (chair), Guy Watson of Riverford, Simon Crichton of Triodos, Gabriel Kaye from the Biodynamic Land Trust and Jez Fredenburgh from Farmer’s Weekly.
