At Christmas time, along with the sensational seasonal flavours of nostalgic dishes cooking in many the oven, a festive warming drink is a wonderful thing to serve to loved ones for gatherings or to keep warm on a winter's eve. 

Our recipe for Glogg is super easy to create and fills your home with those comforting aromas of spice and citrus. Make sure to choose a decent bottle of your favourite red wine to use as your base for the drink.


  • 750ml red wine
  • A large glass of port
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 1 orange sliced
  • 1 star anise
  • A tablespoon dark brown sugar


  1. Place all the ingredients in a sauce pan and gently heat until steaming stirring occasionally. Allow to cook gently for 10 to 15 minutes so the flavours infuse. Carefully pour through a sieve into a jug to serve.
