Harvest Feast Box
There's an age old saying 'what grows together, goes together', what better match than an ancient apple aperitif, coupled with a fabulously fragrant perry washed cheese. Our Harvest Feast Box is a celebration of the wonderful food from the Westcountry, an ode to the acres of ancient orchards that scatter our green and pleasant land.
The Harvest Feast Box includes:
35cl Somerset Cider Brandy Co. Kingston Black
Made from a blend of Cider Brandy and the juice of one of the finest and rarest of vintage cider apples. It has all the sweetness of apples with the depth and quality of flavour which has made Kingston Black a legend in the apple orchards of the West Country. This has to be one of our favourite tipples, perfect for after dinner, or to be kept close to the hip on a brisk winters walk.
500g Stinking Bishop
This full-fat soft cheese is not as powerful as its pungent smell may suggest. Washed in perry, the sticky orange rind has a strong, aroma, but the supple interior is surprisingly sweet and mild. Named after the rare Stinking Bishop pear, which was in turn named after a local mid 19th Century farmer called Frederick Bishop. He earned himself the nick-name 'Stinking Bishop' because of his riotous behaviour.
Kingston Black Apple Aperitif
Store in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight.
It is necessary to apply a common sense approach to cheese care and respond to the cheese you have in front of you, as opposed to following rigid guidelines.
The best option is to keep the cheese wrapped in its waxed paper within a box in the fridge. The container will help to prevent the cheese from drying out and prevent the cheese from absorbing flavours.

About the producer
Kingston Black Apple Aperitif
For the past thirty years the Temperly family have been reviving the ancient art of Somerset Cider Brandy production. The farm sits among 180 acres of cider apple orchards at the base of Burrow Hill in Somerset. Here, cider has been pressed for over 200 years. In 1989 the Temperly family were granted the UK’s first ever full cider-distilling license and they have been distilling award winning cider into Somerset Cider Brandy ever since.
Hunts Court Farm became home to the Martells in 1972. Forever concerned to maintain good rural heritage, Charles began breeding the critically endangered Old Gloucester cows and making 'proper' Double Gloucester cheese with their milk.Over the past 4 decades, Charles has developed a range of hard and soft cheeses, the best known being Stinking Bishop.
