Filled with a selection of curated, artisan cheeses, simply smother with the Sweet Onion Marmalade on a crunchy, Sourdough Crispbread and enjoy.

The Cheese Box for Two includes:

    200g Quickes Vintage Clothbound Cheddar
    1x Nettlebed Creamery, Bix
    1x St Jude Cheese
    200g Appleby's Double Gloucester
1x Rosebud Preserves, Sweet Onion Marmalade
1x Peter's Yard, Original Sourdough Crispbread

      Quickes Vintage Clothbound Cheddar

Handcrafted using heritage starters by expert cheesemakers, this exquisite cheddar is clothbound and naturally matured, typically for 24 months. A rich, intense cheese with huge depth of flavour, from umami to buttery, to salted caramel.

      Bix

Beneath the white wrinkly rind is a dense, ultra-creamy interior with a moreish lactic tang. It’s wonderfully dense and rich, and has a mouthfeel not unlike butter. With an earthy aroma on the nose, at first you’ll detect hints of yoghurt and grassy sweetness on the palate, which then unfurl into toasty notes.

      St Jude

This dainty little cheese is fresh and lemony with a zippy mousse-like texture when young, but packs more punch as it matures, developing earthy flavours and a gooey interior. Dependent on the batch, St Jude can be fresh, bright and citrusy or rich, smooth and buttery but always with a delicate nutty flavour that is so unique to it.

      Appleby's Double Gloucester

This incredible Double Gloucester is a traditional, full fat, hard cheese made from unpasteurized cow's milk. It uses the same ingredients as Appleby’s Cheshire but with variations in the timing, temperature and acidity. It has a smooth and buttery texture with a rich and nutty yet delicate flavour. The acidity is less dominant than in Cheshire and is balanced with a slight tang and mineral bite.

Fiona Beckett, renowned food and drink matcher, recommends a white wine, such as Barouillet Bergecrac Sec 2020 13% with this gorgeous cheeseboard, which may seem a little out there, but works really well with milder cheeses: "it is made in a natural style which adds a seductive softness- like crunching an apple you’ve just picked off the tree." If you are after something a little bit different, why not try  Kingston Black apple aperitif 18%, a sweet and smooth apple drink, perfect with a nibble or two of cheese...
