To care for your mango wood, wash with warm soapy water and then rinse and dry immediately. To nourish and protect the natural wood, rub a good quality edible oil such as olive oil or walnut oil into the surface with a cloth. Due to the natural beauty of these items, there may be changes to the colour over time.

Nkuku was founded on the back of a life-changing adventure. Co-founders Ali and Alex Cooke set off on a year-long round the world trip after leaving their jobs in corporate finance and interiors. From the outset they were inspired and humbled by the talented craftspeople and their beautiful work, that we met on the journey.
It then encouraged them to do something different, so on their return, they moved out of London to rural Devon and started working with artisans throughout the world, supporting and celebrating their skills by bringing their products to a wider audience.
They borrowed the name Nkuku (‘Nu-kuh -kuh’), from a village in Zambia, and wrote their business plan on the cover of a paperback. Their first product was for the stylish journals that they still sell today.
That was back in 2003, today the team and products may have grown, but they still have the same values and hands-on approach, meeting and working with all their makers personally. Their passion is products that bring pleasure to everyday life at the same time as being sustainably made.
