Chiu Chow Chilli Oil

Chiu Chow Chilli Oil

Packed with fresh garlic and red chillies, Chiu Chow Chilli Oil is a treat for the tastebuds.

A brilliant addition to a plethora of dishes-toss through noodles, drizzle on eggs and BBQ’d meat, spread on a cheese sandwhich or dollop on top of hummus.

It was a combination of a love for Asian food and an understanding of cooking at a molecular level from a previous career in science that led Pippa Middlehurst to carefully create small batches of chilli oils in her kitchen during the 2020 lockdown.

Approximately 150g

Rapeseed Oil, Garlic (18%), Red Chilli (16%), Red Chilli Flakes (7%), Soy Sauce (Soya Beans, Water, Salt, Distilled Alcohol, Koji Seeds), Salt, Sugar, Flavour Enhancer: (E621)

Pippa Middlehurst's interest in Chinese cookery began when she was a young child and her grandfather would take her for dim sum. Over the years, it blossomed into a passion. She has been learning about East and South-East Asian cookery for over 15 years and attended Lanzhou Noodle School in 2019 whilst travelling in China.

After graduating from university and taking a job as a cancer research scientist, she combined her love for science with her passion for cookery and hosts supper clubs and cookery workshops, with a focus on noodles and broths, paying particular attention to the molecular biology at play in our cooking.

During the Coronavirus lockdown in 2020 Pippa began jarring her homemade chilli oils for friends and family, demand grew quickly and Pippy Eats was born.
