Petit Fantet, Rouge
Petit Fantet speaks of the scorching heat of Languedoc, the final level of alcohol is high, but there is a freshness and acidity to provide balance.
This is a wonderfully versatile wine and is a blend of mainly Carignan with a splash each of Grenache Noir and Syrah. It is fermented with natural yeasts and no added sulphur. A wonderful example of an easy drinking natural wine.
Enjoy at the table with peasant-style food; sausages, stews or good cheese.
Nose: Lots of dark kirsch and raspberry fruit, with a waft of wild herbs.
Palate: Soft fruit on the palate, with warming garrigues flavours and compact tannins.
For bottles with corks, be sure to store your wine horizontally in a wine rack. Keeping wine on its side helps keep the cork moist, which is key for long-term storage, as a dried out cork can cause seepage and premature aging.
While it's not necessary to keep screw top wine bottles on their sides, horizontal storage is nevertheless an efficient way to store your wines for maximum space and easy access.

AboutChateaux Ollieux Romanis is situated in an elegant 19th-century chateau at Monseret in the heart of the Boutenac region of the Corbieres. It has been in the hands of the Bories family since the mid 19th century. There are 130 hectares in total and the estate is currently administered by Pierre Bories who is assisted by wine maker Jean-Pierre Amiques. The vines are planted on red clay soil and face south east on a sheltered hillside known as the 'Pinada'. The estate is currently working its way to fully-organic status having dispensed with herbicides and pesticides in the late 1990's.
