About our Butchery Course

Spend a day at Pipers Farm learning all the skills it takes to butcher and prepare one of our saddleback pigs ready for making terrines, sausages, puddings and cuts ready for curing, smoking or roasting

Set in the old cutting room there is no better place to be absorbed into the world of butchery. The morning will be all about butchering and learning about the lesser known cuts. There will be a two course lunch featuring some of the pork you butchered earlier on in the day before spending the afternoon preparing sausages, black pudding and a few products to take home with you. We will take a nose to tail approach and try all the unusual parts from the pig as we go.

Being on the farm we can show you our free roaming pigs and talk about buying pork and basic animal husbandry.


Your meat will arrive frozen.
When your meat arrives simply pop it into your freezer.
When you have chosen what you would like to eat, drop your items, still in their individual packaging into cool water and wait for 15 minutes...
