Why we love this
Creamy and buttery, distinctive blue veins run throughout this silky, smooth cheese which is similar in texture to a French Brie. Rich and flavourful, notes of pepper linger on the tongue, adding a sharpness to this soft cheese.
The heritage of this cheese speaks for itself. Michael and Mary Davenport have been farming at Cote Hill Farm in Lincolnshire for over 30 years, using milk from their herd of over 70 Friesian, Holstein and Red Poll cows. Grazing on the rich, nutrient filled pastures in the summer ensures they produce milk which is rich and creamy, which translates directly into the cheese. The milk is unpasteurised to retain the unique flavours of the cheese, which is has won Gold Medals at The British Cheese Awards.
