  • Brixham crab is widely recognised as the best crab in the world and there's only one thing that makes this beautiful crab even more sublime, a rich, creamy Thermidor sauce - this is the perfect, sustainable festive feast.  

    The locally and sustainably caught brown crabs are steamed the morning they are landed, they're then hand-picked and the wonderful white and brown meat put back into the shell. A fabulous rich sauce is made by hand and generously poured over the brown and white meat, a few gluten free breadcrumbs and a handful of fresh herbs are scattered over the top to finish this magnificent feast. Then all you have to do is pop it in the oven to warm through and there you have it, a remarkable festive feast in a flash!

    We'll be serving the Crab Thermidor this Christmas as a wonderful starter alongside some vibrant rocket and sourdough bread, with a glass of Swanaford's Brut Rosé.

  • Brixham Brown Crab, white and brown meat (SHELLFISH).

    Thermidor Sauce: Fish Stock (FISH) (Fish Bones, Carrot, Onion, Fennel, Leek, Herbs, Garlic), Cream (DAIRY), Parmesan (DIARY), English Mustard (MUSTARD), Shallots, White Wine (SULPHITES), Parsley, Lemon Juice, Pepper, Salt, Wheat flour, Brandy or Wheat Breadcrumbs. 

  • Our cooking times are just a guide. Your fish may vary in thickness, it may be warmer or cooler when it hits the pan, your oven or hob may behave differntly to ours. Use our instructions as a guide, but deploy your senses too; look, prod, listen and smell while you cook. After all, cookery should provide us pleasure as well as nourishment.  

    Once thawed, heat your oven grill on full and cook for 5-10 minutes until piping hot. 

    Alternatively preheat the oven to 200C/Gas 6. Place the crab onto a baking sheet and bake in the oven for 25 minutes until piping hot. 

  • All our seafood is caught at its best, meticulously prepared and blast frozen immeditely. Once defrosted it will be as fresh as the day it was landed.

    The Crab Thermidor will be delivered blast frozen ready for you to place straight into your freezer. 

    Once thawed, store the crab it in the fridge and enjoy it within the next 2 days.

Our properly free range meat is carefully wrapped in a fully home compostable, 100% British sheep's wool pouch to keep it in perfect condition during delivery. Should any of your meat thaw during delivery; you can safely refreeze it and keep it frozen for up to 6 months. When you're ready to cook up a feast, you can speedily defrost most of our meat in 15 minutes (larger joints take a little longer). Simply place the items still in their individual packaging into cool water and they will carefully thaw.
