Prospector Pan

Sorry, this product is now out of stock.

Fry on the hob, brown under the grill, cook in the oven. Netherton Foundry's double-handled prospecter pan is the perfect non-stick pan. Unlike Teflon which can peel and scratch after a year, the surface of this spun iron pan becomes more non stick over time.

Sure to become a family heirloom, the memories of family meals and dinner parties with friends build up with each layer of patina added to it's non-stick functionality.

This large 12" pan is versatile enough for one-pot cooking. Fry on the hob, brown under the grill and finish cooking in the oven.

  • The edible Sussex flax oil coating is easy to wash and naturally non-stick.
  • It is ready for immediate use
  • No chemicals or PTFE are used in the pan
  • The coating can be simply restored at home, time after time
  • Suitable for all types of hobs, grills and ovens
  • Iron pans are tough and can be used at very high temperatures

Made from Netherton Foundry's signature spun iron, this prospector pan is lighter than cast iron but still has the sought after non-stick, patina-building qualities and durability. It comes pre-seasoned, so you can get cooking right away. With time, a well-seasoned pan can be used to cook virtually fat-free, for healthier cooking.

To re-season your cast-iron pot/pan, use Flax Oil for best results.

Weight 3lb 3oz (1.46 kg), Top rim diameter 12'' (30.0cm), Base diameter 10" (26.0cm), Pan depth 1.75" (4.3cm).

Every time you use the pan, heat slowly from a low setting before selecting a high or full power. Never drop a hot pan in cold water as this will cause the pan to buckle. Only wash with hot water, do not use soap or detergent.  For best results, we suggest that you give the pan an extra seasoned coating before first use. We recommend for the very best results when re-seasoning you use Netherton Foundry flax oil (edible linseed oil).  To reseason at home, remove all wooden knobs or handles. Cover all surfaces of the bowl, lif or pan with a thin coating of the Netherton Foundry Flax Oil using a cotton cloth. Place on a rack in oven and slowly heat the oven to max temp. Once the oven is up to temperature, maintain this temperature for 40-60mins. Then switch off, allow the pan to cool and store in an airy dry place.  Once properly pre-seasoned, you are ready to use again.  Once properly pre-seasoned, you are ready to use again.
