A rich and creamy Alpine cheese. Read more
Why we love this
Named after the tallest mountain in the region, this raw milk cheese is made from cows who graze on the high alpine pastures. A bold washed-rind cheese made with added cream, the cheese has subtle nutty undertones and a wonderful unami flavour.
This punchy cheese has been made by the Guentensperger family, who have been making cheese for three generations, traditionally making the classic cheese Appenzeller. They then turned their efforts to creating new and exciting variants, such as the Schnebelhorn, which is richer and creamier than other cheeses from this beautiful region.
