  • Our bake at home Cinnamon buns, or kanelbullar, hail from the the Scandinavian winter wonderland of Sweden, and are so popular that the Swedes celebrate National Cinnamon Bun Day every year on the 4th October. 

    Light and buttery with a sumptuous swirl of cinnamon running through the middle, there is nothing better than cosying up with a mug of something warm by the fire and tucking into the soft dough.

    The warming, almost spicy flavour of the cinnamon really encapsulates comfort food and we think they should be enjoyed at all times of the day! They cook in a flash, simply pop them in the oven whilst you're making yourself a cuppa, wait until they are gloriously golden and then hop back into bed with the Sunday paper - there are some things that just can't be rushed.

  • To prepare, take a baking tray and line with parchment paper. Place your buns on top ensuring to leave a gap between each product to allow for proving. cover and place in a warm place overnight. Your buns should have doubled in size overnight.

    Once proven, remove the cover, brush with beaten egg or milk and place in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for approximately 15 minutes until golden brown. Place on a baking rack to cool.

Cinnamon Bun Preparation

Thaw the Cinnamon Bun pastries overnight and let them prove. For extra decadence, roll in cinnamon sugar syrup. Bake at 180°C until golden, then cool and enjoy.
