A Non Vintage blend comprising Seyval Blanc and Chardonnay.
The Non Vintage blend comprises the ‘varietals’ Seyval Blanc, Madeline Angevine and Reichensteiner. Germanic in origin, these varieties often ripen before the noble Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier.
Once picked and pressed, the tailles from the Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier pressing are cold fermented separately, ready for blending with the remaining Non Vintage.
Castlewood sparkling wines undergo traditional method secondary fermentation for a minimum of eighteen months before release.
Nose: Clear pale lemon with a delicate bead. Green apples with deep refreshing citrus undertones.
Palate: Crisp acidity and long lasting creamy finish.
For bottles with corks, be sure to store your wine horizontally in a wine rack. Keeping wine on its side helps keep the cork moist, which is key for long-term storage, as a dried out cork can cause seepage and premature aging.
While it’s not necessary to keep screw top wine bottles on their sides, horizontal storage is nevertheless an efficient way to store your wines for maximum space and easy access.

About the producer
Castlewood Vineyard emerged from its south-facing Devon hillside between 2006 and 2009. This steady progression enabled key sparkling wine varieties to be trialled and planted. Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier represent three quarters of the vineyard, with ‘varietals’ mainly of Germanic origin representing the rest. In 2016 a further 2Ha of Bacchus were planted; ready for production in 2018.
This pocket of only a few thousand vines maintains its quality by only using the ripest fruit which deliver the optimum flavours for our exclusive sparkling wine.
The vineyard is owned and managed by Rob Corbett who meticulously tends to every vine throughout the growing season. Rob call’s in the labour of family and friends for the harvest, with everyone eagerly anticipating the coming vintage and their free wine as payment.
The Castlewood philosophy is quality not quantity, and that less is more. The wines undergo no filtration nor do they use any fining chemicals. Due to Castlewood's small scale production the team can leave the wines to clarify naturally.
