Westcombe Raw Milk Cheddar

Westcombe Raw Milk Cheddar

£4.37

1

Handmade from unadulterated, raw cows' milk, Westcombe Cheddar has a deep complex flavour with long notes of citrus, hazelnut and caramel. These long notes have given way to its tongue in cheek nickname of the 'five mile cheddar' as you're still tasting it 5 miles down the road!

Clothbound and wrapped for 12 - 18 months, the resulting cheese has a wonderful depth of flavour that is savoury but not too sharp. A staple in any fridge, this handcrafted traditional cheddar has a soft, smooth texture and is at its best with paired with a lingering red wine.

Approx 200g

Keep refrigerated. To enjoy this cheese at its best, eat within 7 days of opening and by the best before date shown. Once opened, we recommend wrapping your cheese in greaseproof paper and storing in an air-tight container in the fridge.

About

For Westcombe Dairy and Charcuterie, everything revolves around the wellbeing of their cows. The unique environment of their land in deep Somerset combines lush herbal laid pastures, plentiful spring water, rolling hills and coll mist. These idyllic surroundings result in an exceptional quality dairy herd that are producing some of the richest milk around.

Westcombe wholeheartedly follows the concept that cheesemaking is a process that starts on the farm and ends on a plate. This concept is thoroughly supported by us here at Pipers Farm, Not only this, their aspirations in created a circular economy of pig farming, dairy farming and cheese-making has resulted in their production of cheese and charcuterie. Westcombe has created products that are not only a pleasure to eat, but honest to and rendolent of the countryside that produces it.

By keeping their cows happy and the land healthy, Westcombe is producing rich and characterful products, unique in quality and in taste.
