Our Free Range Sage & Onion Stuffed Chicken makes a seriously special roast.
Our talented team of artisan butchers have meticulously removed the bones from one of our award-winning Properly Free Range chickens. They have then carefully stuffed the chicken with our beautiful sage and onion sausage meat stuffing, tieing the whole bird back together with a small piece of butcher's twine. It really is an example of the absolute care and attention we take over all the wonderful food that we produce.
Our stuffed whole chicken makes a perfect centerpiece for celebratory meals or an indulgent weekend roast. It is so easy to cook and carve.
Any leftover meat is so delicious cold or makes a great sandwich filling.
We take time to develop real depth of flavour in our birds. Our Properly Free Range chicken grow slowly and live significantly longer than most other free-range and organic poultry. All our stuffings are totally handmade using the finest all natural ingredients.
Each stuffed chicken weighs approximately 2kg.
Free Range Chicken, Free Range Pork, Free Range Pork Fat, Sage, Apples, Onions, Gluten Free Oats, Sage, Thyme, Parsley, Salt, Pepper.
Preheat the over to 180C.
Take a good sized roasting tin and wrap it with tin foil.
Place the stuffed chicken into the roasting tin and cover over with foil.
Take the roating tin and place into the oven. Cook for 1 hour 15 minutes.
Remove the foil from the top of the bird and place the tin back into the oven for 15 minutes to brown.
Remove the tin from the oven and pop the stuffed chicken onto a carving board.
Pour the juices from the tin into a saucepan and add a pouch of our pure chicken stock, then leave to reduce for 15 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Carve and serve with glugs of delicious gravy.
How to store
Our stuffed chickens are delivered blast frozen. As we do not use any preservatives in our stuffings we recommend you store in your freezer until you are ready to cook.
Once thawed cook within 2-3 days.
