Taken from the Featherblade of our Grass Fed native breed beef, our Flat Iron Steak is a perfect balance of flavour and tenderness.
Named 'Flat Iron' because this steak resembles the shape of an old-fashioned flat iron, these finely marbled and lean steaks are perfect for grilling in a hot pan, or sizzling on the BBQ
Our Grass Fed Beef Flat Iron Steak is wonderfully tender, we recommend you cook the steaks rare or medium, before thinly slicing and enjoying with a glass of really good wine.
Each steak weighs approximately 500g
Get your pan, or griddle of firepit, extremely hot. Carefully, place the flat iron steak into the pan or onto the griddle. Sear on both sides, and then turn every couple of minutes.
There are a few ways to test as to whether the flat iron is perfectly cooked. The flat iron will be ready when the first juices appear on the surface of the steak or when the centre reaches 43°c on a meat thermometer. This will ensure that it is perfectly blushing pink on the inside.
Remove the flat iron from heat and rest at room temperature for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
When your meat arrives simply pop it into your freezer.
When you have chosen what you would like to eat, drop your items, still in their individual packaging into cool water and wait for 15 minutes until they are fully thawed. Once fully thawed remove the packaging and get cooking.
You can also gently thaw any items by leaving them in the fridge or at room temperature.
