Pour a whole bottle of red wine into a pan and add the mulled wine tea bag sachet, along with any extra ingredients you wish to use. Slices of fresh orange, fresh orange juice, cinnamon sticks, cloves or a dash of Brandy all add wonderful flavour, but are entirely optional.
Bring the wine to a gentle simmer.
Turn off the heat and leave to infuse; the longer you leave the sachet in the wine, the stronger the flavour will become.
Serve warm.
