Christmas has come early for Pipers Farm. We are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded two of Good Housekeeping's most prestigious awards for our Properly Free Range Turkey.
The esteemed magazine blind taste-tested 470 products from 75 of the country's top retailers, including the big 6 supermarkets such as; Marks & Spencer, Waitrose and Sainsbury's, but it was Pipers Farm that scooped the top awards for both Best Whole Turkey and Best Turkey Crown.
Our Properly Free Range Bronze Whole Turkeys are slow-grown by four amazing small scale family farms, such as Mark on his mixed family farm, amongst some of the most beautiful scenery in Devon. They are fed a natural, sustainable diet of locally grown oats, kale, turnips, cider apples and pasture. Once they have reached maturity they are plucked by hand in time honoured tradition and hung for 12 days to develop the amazing depth of flavour that we are famous for - and has won us the top spot in this years Good Housekeeping taste test!
"This delicious bird is stuffed with a sage and rosemary posy is incredibly moist with a rich, flavoursome skin. A worthy centre piece for your Christmas dinner feast this year." Good housekeeping judges.

"Impressively juicy meat under evenly crisped golden skin. The caramelised exterior had so much flavour it reminded us of pork crackling." Good Housekeeping judges
It is such an honour to see sustainable, regenerative farming recognised at this level and to know that all the love and care that goes into rearing our Properly Free Range Turkeys can be tasted in the finished bird. We are proud to work with farmers who truly care about the welfare of these beautiful birds, such as Jason, whose turkeys graze in a traditional Devon orchard, and Christine and John, farmers on a second-generation Dartmoor hill farm who have been raising truly free-range turkeys for us, for 10 of our 30 years.
We do still have a few Properly Free Range Turkeys available to order for Christmas, however, we recommend you place your order soon as we are expecting to sell out earlier this year.
