      • Our friends Quicke's have been nurturing their unspoiled Devon farm for over 450 years, making a range of the finest cheeses in the country.

The Quicke's mature cheddar truckle is a staple on our festive table and also makes a wonderful Christmas gift for a loved one.

A complex creamy cheddar that offers outstanding depth of flavour. Exquisitely distinctive taste which develops as it reaches the back of the palate. Typically matured for 12 to 15 months.

Flavour profile: rich and creamy - from brothy to grassy

        Each truckle weighs approx. 1.8kg

      • Pasteurised Cow's Milk (MILK), Cornish Sea Salt, Starters, Animal Rennet.

        Not suitable for Vegetarians.

      • Usually despatched with 30 days shelf life.

        Keep refrigerated.

To enjoy this cheese at its best, eat within 7 days of opening and by the best before date shown. Once opened we recommend wrapping your cheese in greaseproof paper and storing in an air-tight container in the fridge. It is necessary to apply a common sense approach to cheese care and respond to the cheese you have in front of you, as opposed to following rigid guidelines.

For best flavour, bring to room temperature one hour before serving.

        How to Cut a Truckle

We recommend completely removing the muslin before cutting into the cheese.

Find the edge of the cloth on a flat face of the truckle and pull all the muslin away from the cheese.

Once the muslin's off it's best to wrap the cheese and keep it in a cool larder (8-15ºC) or the salad drawer of your fridge. Waxed paper is perfect; cling film will do.

If using cling film, only cover the cheese's cut side and use a new piece each time you open it.  If it's too dry your cheese may crack; too wet and it'll become thick with mould - although this mould is natural and can enhance the flavour of the cheese, we suggest you scrape off the excess.
