  • Our award-winning Unsmoked Streaky Bacon has a wonderful texture, turning amazingly crisp in the pan, with just the right amount of fat for an intense flavour.

We traditionally brine cure whole sides of our slowly grown Native Breed Pork. Once cured our sides of back bacon are hung and air dried for a week before slicing. The whole process to make our award-winning takes three weeks for our bacon to reach perfection.

Crafted with care from high-welfare native breed pigs, raised slowly on lush pastures to develop rich, full flavour. This premium bacon is unsmoked, allowing the natural pork taste to shine through, offering a more delicate, yet deliciously satisfying experience compared to traditional smoked bacon.

Each rasher of streaky bacon is perfectly cured for that ideal balance of tenderness and crispiness when cooked. Whether you’re pan-frying it to crispy perfection, cooking it in the oven, or using it to elevate your favourite recipes, this unsmoked bacon adds a deep, savoury flavour to any dish. Try it with eggs, in a sandwich, or as an essential ingredient in your favourite bacon recipes.

Unlike mass-produced bacon, our native breed bacon contains no artificial additives or preservatives, just the pure taste of expertly cured, high-welfare pork. Whether you’re preparing a hearty breakfast, or adding crispy bacon rashers to a salad or pasta, this versatile product brings rich flavour to your kitchen.

  • Fully defrost the bacon before cooking. To do this pop the pouch of bacon (still in its packaging) into a bowl of cool water and leave to thaw for around 5-10 minutes.

Add the streaky bacon to a cold cast iron pan. Place on a medium heat and allow the pan to heat up and the fat to gently render.

For very crispy bacon add the streaky bacon to a baking tray and place into a fan assisted preheated oven set to 190C and cook for approximately 7-10 minutes.

  • All of our meat is delivered frozen ready to pop straight into your freezer, once defrosted these can be kept in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Free Range Native Breed Pork

We’re dedicated to providing the highest quality meats, grown with care and respect for the land and animals. Our native breed pork is a prime example of our commitment to excellence. Raised slowly and naturally on our free-range farm, our pigs are allowed to roam freely, feeding on a natural diet of grass and grains. This traditional, ethical farming method ensures that every piece of meat is packed with flavour and tenderness. We believe that great quality starts with great care. Our pigs are raised without antibiotics or growth hormones, ensuring that the pork you enjoy is pure, wholesome, and free from any artificial additives. We choose only native breeds that thrive in natural conditions, producing meat that’s not only more flavoursome but also more sustainable. The slow, natural rearing process allows the meat to develop deep, rich flavours that set it apart from conventional pork. From succulent sausages and crispy bacon to tender roasts and pork chops, our meats are all carefully crafted using traditional butchery techniques, ensuring that every product reflects the exceptional quality we’ve worked hard to achieve. Whether you’re cooking up a family meal or a special occasion feast, you can trust that our meats will deliver unmatched flavour and texture.

Frequently Asked Questions for Traditionally Cured Unsmoked Streaky Bacon

Streaky bacon comes from the belly of the pig, which is why it’s so beautifully marbled with layers of fat and lean meat. This gives it that iconic streaky look and rich, melt-in-your-mouth flavour. At Pipers Farm, our unsmoked streaky bacon is naturally cured to preserve the pure taste of our native breed pork, letting the meat shine without any artificial additives. It’s the perfect choice for those who enjoy bacon that’s full of flavour and texture.
To cook streaky bacon, simply heat a pan over medium heat and fry the rashers for 3-4 minutes on each side until crispy. Alternatively, you can bake it in the oven at 180°C for 15-20 minutes, or until golden and crisp. If you prefer grilling, place the rashers under a preheated grill, turning as needed, until they’re perfectly crispy. Whichever way you choose, our unsmoked streaky bacon will always deliver a rich, delicious flavour.
Yes, you can absolutely freeze streaky bacon to keep it fresh for longer. When you order our Saddleback unsmoked streaky bacon, it will arrive frozen to ensure it stays at its best. We deliver all our meat frozen, so you can rest assured that it’ll be fresh and ready for you to enjoy whenever you need it. When you’re ready to cook, you can either defrost the bacon in the fridge overnight or, if you're short on time, cook it directly from frozen. Just keep an eye on it while cooking to ensure it crisps up beautifully. Our unsmoked streaky bacon can be stored in the freezer for up to 6 months.
