Why we love this
Product details
This wonderful Cheshire cheese is a unique and complex Cheshire, with a crumbly texture and a zesty, full-bodied and tangy flavour.
Recorded in the Doomsday Book of 1086, Cheshire is in fact Britain’s oldest cheese, having been made since before Roman times. For hundreds of years, Cheshire cheese was more famous than Cheddar cheese, but more recently it has fallen from grace, and today only the Appleby family make traditional, farmhouse, raw milk, cloth-bound Cheshire cheese, using milk from their own herd of cows.
We love this cheshire cheese to adorn any cheese board - or perhaps inside a cheese and onion pie for a zesty tang.
230g
Ingredients
Raw Cows' Milk (MILK), Salt, Animal Rennet.
How to store
Usually despached with 14 days shelf life.
Store in the fridge.
It is necessary to apply a common sense approach to cheese care and respond to the cheese you have in front of you, as opposed to following rigid guidelines.
The best option is to keep the cheese wrapped in its waxed paper within a box in the fridge. The container will help to prevent the cheese from drying out and prevent the cheese from absorbing flavours.
For best flavour, bring to room temperature one hour before serving.
If freezing, freeze on day of delivery. Defrost in the fridge. Once defrosted, keep refrigerated and use within 24hrs
